This is a True Story.

It's been along time since I remember this happening
so I figured since it was fresh in my mind I'd share
it and try to keep it in my head, I must have had it
blocked for at least 5 years....

I was working as a security guard in Shelton CT at an
abandoned hospital complex called Laurel Heights, well
ok there was one building in use as a youth drug rehab.
center (and the kids there wouldn't leave the building
at night, and I don't blame them) but the rest of the
complex which consisted of a 3 story ward type hospital
a newer 7 story hospital building, around 7 houses
employee dorms, admin. building etc were empty, I
started working third shift there in April, by July
we'd gone thru at least 9 other guards who after working
one or two days decided they didn't like the 'feel' of
the place, (and after 11 years of hunting around
haunted places I've only found one other place that felt
as dark and haunted as Laurel Heights) pardon my
rambling this is one of the odd ones that are tough to
remember, well one day, it must have been mid-September
(I worked the complex for over a year) I had taken an
afternoon shift to cover for a coworker on my day off
and was enjoying being there during the day for once, I
was cruising the road around the 7 story building when
I noticed movement in the grass in a small picnic area
at the back of the building, so I hopped out of the car
to see what it was and to my surprise I found 5 or 6
kittens crawling around in the grass, I petted one,
looked around and saw a grey one (I love grey cats) so
I walked over to say hi, as I reached to pet the kitten
it looked up at me, half of it's faces was gone, nothing
but skull, the eye socket was even empty, yet it mewed
at me, I looked closer at the cat, and saw that it's
back seemed broken and there was a huge gash in it's
side where it's internal organs could be seen, and one
of it's legs was stripped to the bone, but there was no
blood at all, the gash in it's side even appeared dry,
yet still it crawled around and meowed, I'm not sure
I lost my head at that point and I jumped in the car to
go find a box so I could take the kittens to the animal
hospital at the foot of the hill below the Heights, I
was gone, two minutes, maybe three and when I got back
with a crate, there was no sign of the kittens all of
them had just vanished, there wasn't even a trace of
them no flattened grass where they had been crawling,
nothing...

I TOUCHED those cats, I heard them, they were physically
there but in a matter of a couple minutes they'd gone
without a trace.

(just one of many experiences I had at Laurel Heights)
